Spiritual Director: Chanmyay Myaing Sayadaw (Sayadaw U Indaka)
Sayadaw U Indaka’s Biography:
Chanmyay Myaing Sayadaw was born on October 5, 1952 in Thaleba, Upper Burma. At ayoung age, he entered the local monastery as a novice. Later he transferred to the famous Mahagandhayon Monastery in Amarapura, where his elder brother was also. In 1972, he was ordained as a monk by Mahagandhayon Sayadaw.
He completed his study of the Buddhist scriptures with the Dhammacariya exam, and then taught the scriptures for 10 years.
In 1976, he practiced Vipassana meditation at Mahasi Meditation Center in Mandalay, taught by Chanmyay Sayadaw. A few years later, he went to Chanmyay Yeiktha Meditation Center in Yangon, where Chanmyay Sayadaw assigned him to teach meditators.
In 1996, Chanmyay Sayadaw sent him to the newly opened Chanmyay Yeiktha Meditation Center in Hmawbi as abbot and meditation teacher.
In 2004 he established CMMC on the outskirts of Yangon, and in 2009 he founded the branch center in the Shan Hills near Pyin Oo Lwin.
